Your support of SPD programs provides clear, measurable results for our city. The following are some examples and results of how your gift can help:
$100 Funds critical inner-city programs that develop the community-police relationship, such as the Holiday Giving experience.
RESULT The Holiday Giving experience has given neccesities and presents to needy Sacramento families for over 10 years.
$500 Provides professional life-coaching counseling to Sacramento high school students.
RESULT Life coaching has helped students to determine and achieve personal and professional goals, resulting in higher GPAs, higher graudation rates, better attendance, and higher college entry rates.
$1,000 Assists one Sacramento high school student to attend college through the Scholarship Program.
RESULT $17,000 in scholarships were handed out to high-risk Sacramento high school students continuing on to college.
$2,500 Supports the Sacramento Kops-n-Kids initiative.
RESULT Since 1986, Kops-n-Kids has been organizing celebrity personalities, professional and Olympic athletes and law enforcement service personnel to act as positive role models for Sacramento youth. Together, these professionals are teaching kids how to be successful in life without drugs or gangs.
$5,000 Allows Sacramento Magnet Academy students to attend a week-long leadership and life-skills camp.
RESULT In 2010, Sacramento high school students excelled during camp and developed valuable leadership skills in preparation for their college and professional career.
$10,000 Supports the Police Commendation Awards event for one year.
RESULT Thanks to the genorosity of our donors, we were able to reach our goals to maintain this critical initiative for 2010.
