Race Across America (RAAM)

The Sacramento Police Department's 8-rider relay team participated in it's first 3,000 mile bicycle race across America from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, Maryland in June 2011. The goal was to not only succeed in completing this very challenging athletic and logistical endeavor, but to also bring attention to and honor the nearly 19,000 law enforcement officers who have been killed protecting communities across the nation. Through the race, the Sacramento Police Department was able to honor their fallen comrades and raise funds to make a contribution to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, DC.
